ZeitLichTkeit est une réflexion sur Berlin, l’architecture, la ville et le temps. Les matériaux utilisés, le métal et le verre, nous rappellent la ville postmoderne ; la terre, la campagne, la table rase. La terre provient des Rieselfeld de Berlin-Buch, des champs d’épandage au Nord-Est de la ville installés au XIX siècle et utilisés jusque dans les années 80, ce qui provoqua la pollution et la contamination de cette terre. Depuis quelques années un projet expérimental d’assainissement est en cour. Il consiste à amener de la terre provenant des grands chantiers du nouveau centre ville (la Potsdamer Platz) et de la mélanger avec celle des Rieselfeld de façon à réduire le taux de contamination. Pour moi, c’est aussi le mélange du passé et du futur, de l’Est et de l’Ouest. Une tranche de paysage, une tranche de vie.
ZeitLichTkeit is a reflection on Berlin, architecture, the city and time. the materials used, metal and glass, recall the postmodern city ; the soil recalls the country, the tabula rasa. The soil comes from the Rieselfeld of Berlin-Buch, manure fields northeast of the city installed in the 19th century and used up to the 1980’s, which caused the pollution and contamination of this same soil. For the last few years a restoration project is underway. It consists in bringing the soil from the construction sites of the new city center (Potsdamer Platz) and mixing them with the soil of the Rieselfeld in order to reduce the level of contamination. For me, it’s also a mixture of past and present, East and west. A slice of the landscape, a slice of life. |
