Les premiers essais de captation vidéo au cœur d’un foudroyage intégral auront lieu à l’occasion de la démolition de la Tour Réservoir Plein Ciel à St Etienne le 24 novembre prochain.
Construite en 1970 par l’architecte Raymond Martin et visible depuis les 4 points cardinaux de la ville, la caractéristique principale de cette tour est d’être surmontée d’un réservoir d’eau en forme d’entonnoir. Elle devait initialement être détruite dès 2008 d’après les prérogatives du Grand Projet de Ville dont Montreynaud fait partie. Mais la nouvelle majorité municipale issue des élections de mars 2008, a émis l’hypothèse de sa transformation en objet d’art, avec la disparition de sa fonction d’habitat au profit de sa fonction de symbole. Une consultation des habitants du quartier sur le devenir de la tour a eu lieu le 27 juin 2009. Ceux-ci se sont finalement prononcés à une large majorité de 73% en faveur de sa destruction, qui sera donc effective le 24 novembre 2011.

The first attempts to capture video in the heart of an integral implosion will be held on the occasion of the demolition of the tank Plein Ciel Tower in St Etienne on November 24.
Built in 1970 by architect Raymond Martin and visible from the four cardinal points of the city, the main feature of this tower is to be topped by a funnel shaped water tank. It was originally scheduled to be destroyed in 2008 according to the ’Grand Projet de Ville’ prerogatives which is part Montreynaud. But the new majority after municipal elections in March 2008, has suggested the hypothesis of its transformation into a work of art, with the loss of its habitation function for the benefit of its function as a symbol. A popular consultation of the inhabitants of the area about the becoming of the tower took place on the 27 june 2009. The people finally expressed their will in a vast majority of 73% for its demolition, which will accordingly will be effective on the 24 november 2011.
