Dustracing explore les parties « non-évidentes d'un espace », les plinthes et les fissures de la Galerie NURTUREart, New York. Les paysages de la vidéo ont été composé avec des éléments simples tels que la poussière, du sable, de la sciure… Ainsi, l’acte de filmer devient un événement participatif axée sur les traces et les vestiges, ces éléments éphémères deviennent mouvement poétique. Les participants engagés dans ce projet ont une action sur les éléments, tels que le vent ou le mouvement des poussières, générant ainsi la formation du travail en temps réel. Durant le tournage, le musicien Maciej Lewandowski a créé une bande-son en direct dans l’espace de la galerie, afin que le son et les actions puissent fusionner et créer un environnement totalement immersif.
Dustracing focused on filming the non-evident parts of a space – in this case, the baseboard and the cracks of NURTUREart Gallery, New York, allowing the landscape in the background to emerge through the filming process. That landscape was composed with simple elements such as dust, sand, sawdust and stones. Thus the filming event became a participatory act that focused on the traces and remnants of disregarded, ephemeral elements that are poetically set in motion. Participants engaged with this project by creating gestures with the elements, such as generating wind or moving dust, thereby facilitating the formation of the work in real time as an embodiment of becoming.
In addition to the filming, musician Maciej Lewandowski created a live soundtrack during the workshop, with the intention that Dustracing‘s live score will drive the gestures and actions of the performer/participant. Through cumulative digital tape delay system and live processing, the sound and actions merged together to fill the space, creating a totally imersive environment. |
