Una calma utopia a été présentée à la Vereniging voor het Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst de Gent, en Belgique, dans les mois d’avril et mai 1995 après une longue période d’études.
Pour cette occasion j’ai préféré vider le lieu : une sorte d’état de fatigue.
Je voulais me “désarmer”, partager ma faiblesse avec le visiteur en me présentant inoffensif devant ses yeux.
Les travaux, dessins gravés dans le bois d’acajou, dessins aux pastels secs sur bois préparés et dessins aux pastels secs sur papier, étaient tous accrochés ensemble sur un mur dans la plus petite pièce du musée, les autres pièces plus grandes étaient vides.

Una calma utopia was presented at the Vereniging voor het Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst in Ghent, Belgium, during the months of April and May 1995 following a long period of studies.
For the occasion I chose to empty the space : something akin to a state of fatigue.
I wanted to “disarm” myself, share my weakness with the visitor by presenting myself as harmless to his eyes.
All the works, mahogany woodcuts, dry pastel drawings on primed wood and dry pastel drawings on paper, were hung together on a wall in the smallest room of the museum. The other larger rooms were left empty.
